The Flood Run
The flood run is an event where a gazillion Motorcyclists in Minnesota all converge on a strip of roads from Prescott Wisconsin into Winona Minnesota. My new Club The Twin Cities Motorcycle Club
Went to this en mass. It was fun, but VERY exhausting. I learned that if you only drink Coffee and Energy drinks, you WILL get dehydrated. hear are some pics from the event:

Meanwhile at Castle Nannbugg, the weather is a little bit better..............

THIS is what its been like in Minnesota. Yes I hate it here right now, cause i can't go roller blading, Motorcycling OR Bicycling. The indoor blading season is over, so its outside time, and it SUCKS!

Well that was fun! VERY eventful weekend. I went on an 80 mile tour with my friend DOOGIE. Doug has a Honda VTX 600. Not too bad for a cruiser. I can smoke him BAD if I wanted to, but touring is all about the twisties! No racing here...Just twists and turns by lake vistas...AHHHHHH!
Ya GOTTA LOVE it. Put 2 new tires on the thing, and it rides like a dream. Prior to the tour I went to Bobs Java Hut in Minneapolis and CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS: Some guy pulls in on a newer VFR, climbs off...Looks at my bike and says to himself: "THIS USED TO BE MINE!" YOU guessed it! It was the prior owner (he sold it to the guy I bought it from who only had it for one summer) We spent the next 20 minutes discussing the entire history of the bike. I know EXACTLY what was done, and what needs to be done. The good news: It's been lovingly cared for, and had MANY parts replaced. The BAD news: Not TOO bad, but needs a new clutch.

As for me...only time will tell!
Post of the day a few days late!

Click on the following URL for Shifelys Blog. It was his Friday post, but since I read it saturday, it was my "Post of the Weekend".

Oh, and have a good day everyone! I am feeling MUCH better since I stopped taking the "Cure" for my ailments. I am currently taking fistfuls of supplements such as "Fish Oil" CoQ10 Flax Oil, and Multi and Mega B vitamins. We will see if it helps!

This pretty much sums up how I feel today! Like a vampire rising from a long sleep! I actually feel GREAT. The meds are all out of my system, and I feel good. Went roller blading yesterday. I am accepting the fact that i may not be able to hit it as hard as I used to, but with diet, exercise and maybe some new meds that DON'T MAKE ME SICK, who knows?

Wednesday, March 14, 2007

Hey Guys! Haven't been feeling well at all. Med side effects, and threw out lower back. Bad month all around!

Thank GOD its almost Bicycling season. I NEED to hit the trail!

Cure is worse than the disease...Why would a doctor prescribe a statin drug AGAIN when the first course had debilitating side effects?

Maybe Angel JR can talk about this. I was an IDIOT to do it, but since my numbers are so high, i tried it. The first time I was diagnosed with high cholesterol and triglycerides, I was prescribed LIPITOR. I had serious muscle pain and weakness almost immediately, and i got off of it. Thats was a year ago. I DID cut down on SOME things diet wise, but was NOT very disciplined, so therefore the numbers were not better a year later.

So my Doctor, in his INFINITE wisdom prescribed YET ANOTHER statin drug. Guess what? This one made me ill immediately, and came to a head last nigh when I experienced chest pain, leg back and arm cramps, abdominal pain and the return of Acid Reflux that I had thought was cured last year.

NOW WHAT? The drug companies claim about 3% (THERES THAT FRIGGING NUMBER AGAIN!!!) suffer from the side effects, but further research indicates some doctors have the numbers more like 30%. It appears that there are (non-FDA) natural treatments out there such as Red Yeast Rice, Fish Oil and CoQ10 supplements. I may have to investigate that route.

Gene Siskel Has been REINCARNATED, and is alive and well at Twolfs Blog!

This is a post I did at Shifes Blog

The
300
I am gonna have a BIG stiffy until I get to see this...Just watching the TRAINING these actors had to endure to get ready for the roles impresses me. I love ALL things done like comic books!

Fast Food Nation Uhhhhhh DUHHHH! They have been telling us ALL that fast food IS the root of all evil. As a man whos cholesterol is 350, and his Triglcerrides of 650, I can attest that high fat food will be the death of us all.

Heroes and 24 My High Def 50" DLP and DVR LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE these shows, as do I. Shife, is it me, or is the BEST things in entertainment come from network mini-series and HBO/SHOWTIME Minis?

Let me list a few:

Deadwood If you can ignore the numerous f-Bombs...And I hate westerns, but LOVE this show!

Sopranos Yeah they were resting on their laurels a little bit, but ya still gotta love them jersey Mooks!

JerichoIf If this scenario doesn't scare you, no evil thing will. The aftermath of American society as seen by the inhabitants of a small town after a communist nuclear attack.
Boston
Legal
God my DVR LOVES Shatner and Spader. Fun Brash and bold, this show is for the thinking individual, but ofttimes has plenty of toilet humor while CONSISTENTLY pushing the boundaries of propriety. Political correct its NOT, and THANK GOD for that!

Listen to me. Hear the words that are coming out of my mouth. FEEL me on this....I Really am serious...Get the gist and feel the emotion...and then WRITE THIS DOWN and pass this along...

This movie SUCKS ASS!!!!

Yes LITERALLY as well. there is a rather repulsive eastern block Jack-assian scene where this guy and a fat guy are "nude wrestling". I thought I was going to HURL!

Don't get me wrong! I LIKE puerile and potty humor. Hell sometimes that gets the laughing and crying reaction out of me. I mean see the "Dick in the Box" post?

Maybe it was the medication I am on. Maybe its because I KNOW lots of immigrant Russians...I dunno guys. I simply hated this film SO much, i was tempted to go back to the video store and DEMAND my $2.99 back. Or maybe claim it was defective.

I was ripped off. I was scammed. I was cheated. And I DON'T like it.

I guess the DVD itself should have clued me in. It looked SO much like a "copied DVD"...thats right..It was a gimmick..It was supposed to look "third world" that I actually called the video store to confirm that someone didn't steal the ORIGINAL Dvd and replace it with the "fake one".

Sometimes the powers that be try to save you from making a big mistake.

I wasn't listening very well!

You should all go and visit a new blogger:

Shes a little new, but a fast learner! Take the time to welcome her to our wonderful little Bloggerland! Besides she made it through...what was it...10 feet of snow? Hell they should give her a medal just for THAT! I live in Minnesota...WE Are supposed to get serious snow...But we only got about 18 inches of snow. 10 feet is like if you stacked me twice, my HEAD is the only thing you would see sticking outta a snowdrift!

Beta Blockers
are tricky drugs. They slow your heart WAYY down. I found out that if you accidentally take an extra dose, it's BAD! I accidentally did, and it felt like I was seeing the world in a slow motion movie. Luckily, a little caffeine offset the problem.

It indeed SUCKS getting older!

Is this what I have to look forward to in my old age???

Saturday, March 03, 2007

NEVER take me with you to Vegas!!!

Because my luck SUCKS! I built this thing up so much, and the odds were SO in my favor that I couldn't CONCEIVE of it (the procedure) not working.

As you can see, there are no pictures. I was going to be "Mr Documentary Guy", and make this whole great thing about how I was CURED of this palpatation problem.

I am the 3 out of 100 that Ablation CANNOT CURE. I am VERY greatful to the doctors becuase they TRIED. It took them 3 1/2 hours to figure out that the (extra) pathway in question is millimeters next to my hearts normal pathway. If they would fix it, the chance of screwing up my regular pathway would be about 80%.

And as my luck is horse shit anyway, I have elected to try other means of controlling the problem. There are drugs that can help. I am now on a beta blocker. I will let you know.

I won't lie. I bawled like a baby for about 20 minutes after the bad news. Maybe it was the medication, or maybe the fact that like a MORON I was SO SURE that with an 96-98 percent success rate that I would be one of the lucky many right?

I dunno.

At any rate, I am pretty depressed. Maybe I will feel better later if the medication works. Right now I feel like I am 100 years old, and maybe should be in diapers and suck on a bottle of fukitol.

Yet tomorrow is another day.

The Procedure was hard on me. They could not give me alot of meds because unlike EVERYONE ELSE (whom this worked for), I was also unique in the fact that they had a hard time causing my heart to palpitate under the "happy meds' and they had to give me a shitload of adrenaline to make the heart palpitate. It hurt a lot, and made my head hurt. I feel tired, like I ran a marathon. I am gonna eat a subway and go to bed.

Sorry this post is so morose, but its how I feel, and I owe all of you nothing less than the truth!

Maybe later I will share some pics. For now I want to forget I had all these hopes for this to work and they were dashed. Right now I am going to chill. The Adrenaline made me feel like I ran the Boston Marathon, so see ya later!

I am not scared yet....

I had 20 attacks at the dome yesterday roller blading. I swear if this works, I am going to be one grateful son of a bitch!

Tomorrow, I take pictures and document the whole thing!

Tuesday, February 27, 2007

This is what its been like on blades this winter:

I make it about 30 minutes, then I start to get the attacks. It all depends on the duration and intensity of my workout. I LIKE to GET a workout, and to lose weight, I have to get my heart rate up past a certain point.

The attacks feel like someone is "pinching my fuel line" off. I lose energy, get short of breath, get dizzy, and my legs tire out.

The really WEIRD thing is that once the attack goes away, its like someone throws the switch from "off" to "on"...I mean its THAT instantaneous where i can IMMEDIATELY go back to doing whatever. It usually lasts between 3-5 Minutes.

The problem is by that time, the next attack happens. Then the process starts all over again!

And now once they start, they don't stop.

ALSO contributing factors are:

Weight gain-I gained 20 lbs due to bad workouts from the attacks, but MOSTLY from my poor discipline with eating properly. I eat VERY LITTLE during the day, and a BIG meal at night. bad habit!

High Cholesterol? I am now on a statin drug. I had a bad reaction to Lipitor before, but my Doc says that since my triglycerrides are 650, I best try some more things, or die. I choose the trying of more things!

Caffeine-If it doesn't CAUSE the problem, it ALWAYS makes it worse.

Countdown to Procedure: 3 more shopping days!

(Warning-if you ARE in the office, better turn down the speakers, but it IS damn funny. My boss and I were laughing so hard, we were crying!)

MOZILLA FIREFOX IS THE SCHIZZLE!!!!

If you have cable internet or broadband dump Explorer for this FAST AS HELL Browser. I am converting ALL my bookmarks over now. I had NO idea just how much faster switching browsers could make with my cable internet. its at LEAST 5 times faster than using pokey Internet Explorer. More comments later!

Evidently when you create a new template, all comments are erased. I apologize to all my friends out there. if I would have known, I would have done something different! I need links again, so all of you need to leave your URLs again please so I can re-link you!

Ablation Procedure Countdown!!!
I have to admit to being a little nervous. I am a PUSS by nature with a low tolerance for pain. That being said, I am also hopeful that this will work.
I KNOW that I am capable of MUCH MORE physically, and that palpatations have been holding me back for many years. Heres how:
1) I used to go on a Moderate (Bicycle) road ride with MUCH better riders than me. I had the energy and the fitness, but the PALPATATION attacks would ALWAYS come at the peak or near the halfway point, and becuase of the no-drop policy, tHE WHOLE PACK would have to wait for me til it stopped. i had to stop going for THEIR sakes.
2) I would get the WHILE BOWLING!!! BOWLING is NOT a HIGH INTENSITY SPORT!!!
3) It freaked out my friends. It worried them. I stopped going with other people because I knew it would make them worry!
3 years of this shit! I am READY for a CURE!
I am ready for this. Its time. I will document the whole thing with pictures, and you are all coming with me!

Heart Palpatation Mystery FINALLY solved!
I have what is known as Supraventricular Tachycardia which is basically areas in the heart where an electrical impulse "Short Circuits" the heart causing the palpatations. I will be having a procedure known as as known as Catheter Ablation . This is basically where they basically "close the bridge" in the places where the electrical impulse is short-circuiting. Its a pretty simple procedure that SHOULD CURE my palpations!!! I am trying to get in ASAP. The complications are supposed to be rare and few, and the success rate is around 98%. I like those odds!

Here is whats supposed to happen:

What to expect during the operation

The Risks are minimal, and the rewards are pretty likely that I will be free of these accursed palpatations! I will let everyone know when and where its gonna happen!

Yet another successful Helmet Story!
Well, a friend went to the dome with me to skate last friday. I suggested she get on the safety gear (Which the metrodome loans to ALL who want them).
SURE enough, she fell backwards and hit her heard and backside on the concrete HARD.
Another helmet saves a brain. Wear em guys. YOU could be NEXT!

Having a tooth extracted is no fun. But it makes me appreciate good health insurance. BTW, if you get a "Dry Socket", make sure you:
1) Get painkillers
2) Get antibiotics
3) Don't make any frigging plans.

Happy New Year all you fat bastards! This is OBVIOUSLY the reason why as HARD as I work out, the facts that remain are:
1) I am 40
2) I cannot eat like I would at 20
3) If I hear another 20 year old tell me "Its EASY to lose weight" I am kicking them in the nuts.
Nuff said!
