Sorry I haven't been on, but have been WAYY depressed about the bleak ass job situation, and have been feeling non motivated to blog. Nothing has worked out for jobs for me, and I have no idea what to do next.

The hippo and the turtle.....a true story!

NAIROBI (AFP) - A baby hippopotamus that survived the tsunami waves
on the Kenyan coast has formed a strong bond with a giant male century-old
tortoise, in an animal facility in the port city of Mombassa, officials
said.

The hippopotamus, nicknamed Owen and weighing about 300 kilograms
(650 pounds), was swept down Sabaki River into the Indian Ocean, then
forced back to shore when tsunami waves struck the Kenyan coast on December
26, before wildlife rangers rescued him.

"It is incredible. A-less-than-a-year-old hippo has adopted a male
tortoise, about a century old, and the tortoise seems to be very happy with
being a 'mother'," ecologist Paula Kahumbu, who is in charge of Lafarge
Park, told AFP.

"After it was swept and lost its mother, the hippo was traumatized.
It had to look for something to be a surrogate mother. Fortunately, it
landed on the tortoise and established a strong bond. They swim, eat and
sleep together," the ecologist added. "The hippo follows the tortoise
exactly the way it follows its mother. If somebody approaches the tortoise,
the hippo becomes aggressive, as if protecting its biological mother,"
Kahumbu added.

"The hippo is a young baby, he was left at a very tender age and by
nature, hippos are social animals that like to stay with their mothers for
four years," he explained.

My brother "B" who is a POLI-SCI major AND a Republican...YES...A REPUBLICAN...and I have MANY healthy debates and fun ones at that. I agree with MANY Republican views like on the subject of Welfare, but disagree with many others. So "B" and I have some great Arguments, and i learn something from hime every time. Of course he never insults my views during the debates...and I never insult his. We merly disagree on them.
We both have a problem with the narrowminded. Narrowmindedness is the reason for the ignorant to CONTINUE to stay ignorant, and it is generally a high dose of EGO that perpetuates it.
You see, he is a fine representation of his political party. he makes great points without having to bash others by calling them "Not true Americans". Become informed before you open your pie-hole, and stop embarassing yourself and others.
I had some fun with you as I do with many of the mean spirited rednecks. If you were merely ignorant, I would have not flamed you as much. But ya hadda go and get all HITLER on us, so its my duty to deal wit ya!

A true American CARES for his country, and voices his first amendment right to HAVE an opinion. A true American SHOWS up at the polls, and picks his candidate regardless of what anyone else thinks. Whether or not you AGREE with the opinion OR the candidate is irrelevant. A true sign of ARROGANCE and LACK OF HUMILITY is the guy who says what YOU said in the previous post.

I have one side of the family that is right wing conservative Christian Republican, and the other side is DFL all the way.

Me, I am a moderate, and I like to vote on ALL the issues the candidate of the time is touting to believe in.
